‘A Brigadier and his wife allegedly ill-treated the troops and their families,’ a pamphlet containing these words are circulating in Dharamshala cantonment on last Friday. This pamphlet is a clearly distributed to destroy the Brigadier’s reputation and lower down the morale of other troops and their families in the cantonment.

Gorkha Regiment

The leaflets containing such allegations were circulated to the troops and army men in the cantonment in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh along with the daily newspapers. An unknown person paid some Rs 200 to the newspaper hawker for distributing the pamphlets. Not only that, once the pamphlet was distributed in the cantonment, a picture of the flyer was getting circulated on the WhatsApp send Facebook in the Army circles, reveals the source.

What Was Written In The Pamphlet:

Army Medical Center

The wife of the Brigadier makes ladies from the families of the troops dance in front of her and no health facilities are provided them by the senior officer.  It alleged the allegations that jawans are not given any vehicles for visiting the health centers or hospitals and they are ill-treated when they go to the house of the officer.

The booklet also alleged that the Brigadier and his wife mocked the jawans of various units in front of others, as the Gurkha soldiers have been faced fun in front of Sikh soldiers, while Sikhs got ridiculed in the presence of Gurkha soldiers. Sources say that this letter was likely to be written by the soldiers from Dharamshala cantonment, having tried to show that there are problems between the officers and the soldiers, it is complaining that when the soldiers do not have proper accommodation, the brigade spent Rs 60 lakh at his own official house.

The Army’s Statement Over The Malicious Allegation:

Indian Army

As soon as the flyer gets distributed in the camp, the Brigadier and his wife were started getting criticized for their behavior. The Army’s sources stated, “During the initial inquiries done by the authorities concerned in the matter, it appeared to be the handiwork of two officers posted at the Dharamshala military station who had been pulled up by the Brigadier Commander for not doing their work properly.”

The sources said that a formal inquiry has already been ordered in which the accused may be identified behind the manual, which can also be the comradeship of elements working for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Army sources have said that the statement mentioned in the book is “lying with not even a single iota of truth”.

Also, as per the official sources, “The matter has been investigated by general officer commanding (major general-rank officer) of the brigade and it seems that it is a malicious attempt by someone or the ISI trying to defame a genuine good officer who has an impeccable history and background.”

The sources also confirmed that for past five months no party or dance as described has ever been conducted. Regarding the medical facilities and no vehicles provided to visit the nearby hospital, the sources said, two doctors with a small hospital with ambulance service has been at the Dharamshala military station. But the name and the picture of the Brigadier mentioned in the pamphlet is true and other every mentioned thing was not at all true.
