Indian navy is a powerful force in the Indian Ocean Region, their presence cannot be ignored and Indian navy is the only naval superpower in the IOR region which can stop Chinese false intention or any suspicious activity. Indian Navy is trying hard to develop diplomatic as well as strategic relations with their neighbors in Indian Ocean Region to gain supremacy over highly powerful and highly capable naval superpower PLA Navy which is a naval arm of Chinese armed forces.
Indian Navy on Wednesday welcomed and responded very warmly to the Myanmar Navy’s delegation, MN delegation was on 4 day official visit to check out Indian Navy’s training facilities. The visit is primarily aimed at familiarising the MN officers on Indian Naval Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) operational/ training facilities and exploring avenues for defence cooperation in the field. The delegation called on Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command, Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni, who assured them all assistance in terms of training and setting up of meteorological facilities for the Myanmar Navy, a navy release said here.
The Chief of staff, Southern Naval Command requested the delegation to send a proposal for the Southern Naval Command to take up the same with higher authorities, Myanmar Navy’s delegation visited many institution of the Indian Navy like Indian Naval Meteorological and Analysis Centre, School of Naval Oceanology and Meteorology. The foreign delegation also visited several Naval simulators.
Indian Navy has always tried to strengthen the relation with the Myanmar by offering assistance in training, weapon and hydrographic research and aids in various emergencies. Indian Navy understand the significance of Myanmar in the deterrence against China.
