IB has Asked Indian Army Soldiers To Delete These 42 Mobile Apps, As China Is Spying Through Them

India is not safe from its neighboring countries as always there is a threat of two front war from its East neighboring country China and West neighboring country Pakistan. This threat isn’t limited only to the border war. But, on the one side, Pakistan has always been trying to disrupt the internal peace of India through spreading terrorism and China has been expanding its power in the security forces to make them prepare for war to India. Also, China is finding new ways to spy on the military forces of India.

The Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) has issued a warning and advising the troops from China’s intention of spying. IB suspected China to collect internal information about the Indian security through its mobile phone apps that are highly popular.

The warning is issued to the troops who are currently posted along the Line of Actual Control. DIG, the intelligence advised the troops to delete the applications or delete their number from these apps. The troops are also advised to reformat their mobile phones to protect it from China’s spying intention.

Intelligence Bureau has asked to uninstall the 42 apps from the mobile phones of soldiers posted along the LAC. IB has a list of 42 applications including popular Truecaller, Wechat, UC Browser and many. These apps are vulnerable to leak data.

IB suspected the possibility of leaking personal data of troops by these apps through transmitting sensitive which could be a disaster for the security. The IB felt the need to alarm the troops after Dokalam issue. As the troops from both sides are at high level of alert especially at LAC.

Chinese troops at LAC

This is not the first time when such kind of advisory is released from the intelligence agencies. Earlier also, the troops or the officers are asked not to use Chinese Apps in a chance to thwart the possible leak of vital information to the hostile neighboring country. Along with Army, Central armed police forces are also posted along the 4057 km LAC stretches from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.

Earlier, Indian Air Force had asked its officers and airmen not to use Chinese Xiaomi smartphones and notebooks as they can leak personal data to China. The warning by IAF was issued after experts have suspected the possible espionage attempts by Chinese hackers.
