AFCAT 2 2018 Examination Notification Date, Eligibility with Details

Many of us dream to become an officer in the Indian Air Force and to have a career full of thrill and adventure. Indian Air Force is provides you an opportunity to serve as an officer in through AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test). AFCAT is conducted twice in a year and AFCAT 2018 is here. The AFCAT 2 2018 examination has same criteria for all the branches except the candidate who has applied for the technical entry. Apart from AFCAT 2018 examination, those who applied for technical roles have to pass EKT test as well.

Upcoming AFCAT 2 2018 will be held on the last Sunday in the month of August. The notification for the AFCAT 2 2018 will be out by June 2018.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For Flying Branch

  1. Age- 20-24 Years (At the time of commencement of course)
  2. Nationality- Indian
  3. Martial Status- Single
  4. Gender- Men Only

Education Qualification

Graduate (Three year course) in any discipline from a recognised university(With Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level with 60% marks)/BE/B tech(four year course) with minimum 60% marks.

Final Year/Semester students are also eligible to apply. provided they produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

  • Ground Duty Technical

  1. Age- 20-26 Years (At the time of commencement of course)
  2. Nationality- Indian
  3. Martial Status- Candidate below the age of 25 years should be unmarried

Education Qualification-
Depending upon your stream of Engineering and subjects studied, you could join one of the sub branches of the Ground Duty (Technical) branch. Check the educational qualification required for the sub branches.

AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING ELECTRONICS

Eligible only when a candidate should have minimum of 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and have undergone any one of the following educational qualifications:-

A minimum of four year graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized university OR
Cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) OR
Cleared Section A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India OR
Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines.

  • Computer Science and Engineering / Technology
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering

AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING MECHANICAL

Eligible only when a candidate should have minimum of 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and have undergone any one of the following educational qualifications:-
A minimum of four year degree graduation / integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering / Technology from recognised university
OR
Cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India)
or
Cleared section A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies
With a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering and Automation
  • Mechanical Engineering (Production)
  • Mechanical Engineering (Repair and Maintenance)

  • Industrial Engineering

Ground Duty Non-Technical

This branch is responsible for managing Human and Material Resources. The Ground Duty(Non-Technical) is the steering wheel of the Indian Airforce.

  1. Age – 20 to 26 Years for Graduates and Post Graduates (at the time of commencement of course).
  2. Marital Status – Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried.
  3. Nationality – Indian
  4. Gender – Both men and women

Flying Branch – (206/20F/SSC/M & W)

Ground Duty Technical Branch – 205/20T/PC/ M and 205/20T/ SSC/M & W

Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch – 205/20G/ PC/M and 205/20G/ SSC/M & W

Dates to remember-

The application form will get open for the AFCAT 2 2018 in the month of June.

The exam will be held on the last Sunday in the month of August which is 26th of August.
