India and China are involved in a standoff since a quite long time now at the Dokalam area, which is a junction connecting the tri-nations. Since then, Chinese media and diplomat leaders have been spewing venom against the Indian army.
Chinese Daily, Global Times which is guided by the state has warned India to be prepared for a war or a confrontation if they can’t pull back their troops from the Dokalam area. The Global times stated,”India should abandon the fantasy of a long-term standoff at Doklam. China will by no means agree to the withdrawal of troops from both sides in order for talks to be held. Doklam is Chinese territory. The withdrawal of Indian troops must be a precondition for talks and China will not compromise on this stance.
China has reiterated its stance on the issue and shown the utmost tolerance and patience toward India. If Indian troops continue trespassing into China’s territory, what Beijing may do next is to get prepared for a military confrontation against New Delhi and resolve the conflict through non-diplomatic means.”
Sushma Swaraj, the Minister of External Affairs of India said in the parliament that India will not withdraw its troops till the Chinese army does the same. She also said that every country backs India on the current stand off. The Global Times editorial quotes that Sushma Swaraj is lying. It said, “She was lying to the parliament. First, India’s invasion of Chinese territory is a plain fact. New Delhi’s impetuous action stuns the international community. No other country will support India’s aggression. Second, India’s military strength is far behind that of China. If the conflict between China and India escalates to the intensity where their row has to be resolved through military means, India will surely lose.”
The article further warned of a possible war if Indian forces don’t withdraw from Dokalam area. The Chinese daily stated the PLA is doing everything correctly and there is no intrusion anywhere. It stated,” If Indian troops continue trespassing into China’s territory, what Beijing may do next is to get prepared for a military confrontation against New Delhi and resolve the conflict through non-diplomatic means.”
The article bragged about China’s military power and its GDP which is 5 times of India currently. It stated, “China’s military spending is four times that of India where its GDP volume is five times that of India. The great gap will shape the actual pattern of power balance between the two countries at the border.” It asserted the fact that China cannot lose an “inch of land” and to protect that the next step Beijing will do is to have no diplomatic relations and attack. The article said, “China cannot afford to “lose an inch” of territory. This is the sacred wish and request of the Chinese people. The Chinese government will not breach the fundamental will of the people and the PLA will not let the Chinese people down. If New Delhi remains stubborn, India should get prepared for all possibilities from a potentially grave escalation of tension in the future.
The PLA has been doing an exercise in Tibet where they have moved all logistics and equipments that might need for the war. The article said the Chinese soldiers will not go back till these standoff is over and India withdraws its troop.
The article also said that India should not have faith on US and Japan that they will come to help them. It said that China has a dominance in the Indian Ocean and China can hit at India’s weaknesses. A strongly worded article said, “India should by no means count on support from the US and Japan because their support is illusory. If India fancies the idea that it has a strategic card to play in the Indian Ocean, it could not be even more naïve. China does hold a lot of cards and can hit India’s Achilles’ heel, but India has no leverage at all to have a strategic showdown with China.” China recently deployed a submarine in the Indian Ocean. It came to spy during the Malabar Exercise.
The article also bragged about Chinese army’s might and its logistics, it warned that India will lose face and the lose will be an utter disgrace. India is not backing down to all these warnings by the Chinese media, the land belongs to Bhutan and Bhutan has asked for assistance of India because China wants to occupy the land which is also very cruicial for India because if China reaches there, the Chicken Neck of India which connects complete India to the east Indian states will be very close to the China.
