For The First Time, India Says Pakistan Funds Terror in Afghanistan in UN


Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN on behalf of India stated Pakistan a nation which supports, promotes terrorism and is a home to a number of most wanted terrorist leaders. He said that the destructive activites and terrorism in Afghanisthan is not rooted in their own land rather their neighbour is responsible for all of it, which has sheltered and has been a home to terrorists like Mullah Omar, Osama Bin Laden.

He stated that Pakistan has always kept supporting the agendas of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen and JeM.

“Such offensives are planned and launched from safe havens in the neighbourhood of Afghanistan, he said. He also said that the nation encouraging terrorist activities in Afghanistan are not being stopped.

He also mentioned that it should not take any other incident or apocalypse to remind the world about the nation who supports such terrorist activities and that Afghanistan requires global support to eliminate the ones who are a threat to the whole of world.

Syed stated that the Taliban is involved in all kind of illegal trade and activities in a very organised manner, be it drug transport. He said that apart from being a political and a mere terrorism issue, it is being done as an ordered crime. He raised the attention of the Council looking over to avoid such activities from happening in the nation and to prevent the loss of natural resources of the nation and activities of terrorism and extremism.

He also mentioned that India has played a highlighting role as a development partner in Afghanistan’s connectivity, trade and investment relations noting that Cargo flights between Kabul, Kandahar, New Delhi and Mumbai have transported around 2,000 tonnes of exports from Afghanistan to India worth over tens of millions of dollars.

‘India has plans of expanding its trade to other cities of Afghanistan’, said Syed.
