Govt. Considering Girls Entry in NDA, might start soon


NDA is the most prestigious institution of the Indian army. Getting into it is a dream of many defence aspirants, either boy or girl. But till now only boys were allowed into the NDA, but now things might change soon and even girls might get a direct entry into NDA.

Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre said that the center is considering a proposal to give admission to girls in NDA. Bhamre said that there have been many PILs and many questions raised on the topic that why girls don’t get admission in National Defence Academy. This issue was raised during the question hour in Lok Sabha.

The matter is under consideration on whether girls should be given an entry in NDA or not. There is also a consideration of opening more sainik schools of which 21 are in the approval process.

The Sainik Schools were opened in 1961 by then Defence Minister V.K. Krishna Menon to finish the difference between the regional and class imbalance amongst the officer cadre of the forces. Sainik schools also help to prepare students for entry into the NDA and the Indian Naval Academy.
