Indian army and PLA has decided to call of an almost three month long standoff at Dokalam. The foreign ministry said today. However, China’s news portal don’t echo the same news. They say, that India has withdrawn troops from Dokalam and China will continue to monitor the situation.
The foreign minister said in a press conference today, “In recent weeks, India and China have maintained diplomatic communication in respect of the incident at Doklam. During these communications, we were able to express our views and convey our concerns and interests.”
China is expecting Narendra Modi at BRICS summit in coming weeks and earlier it was not clear whether Modi would be attending the event or not.
The Indian army will not withdraw immediately, it will take few days for the army to withdraw completely.

The MEA press statement further stated, “expeditious disengagement of border personnel at the face-off site at Doklam has been agreed to and is on-going.”
However, the Chinese counterpart doesn’t echo the same thought. I checked three four Chinese state sponsored news websites.
Chinese news portal Xinhuanet reported, “China confirms India’s withdrawal of troops, equipment from Dong Lang”. It further stated Chinese foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying comments, “Chinese personnel completed the on-site check around 2:30 p.m., adding that China will continue to safeguard its territorial sovereignty according to historical boundary treaties.
The Chinese government values its neighborly friendship with India. It expects India to respect historical boundary treaties and basic principles of international law, and to work with China to safeguard peace and stability in the border area on the basis of mutual respect of each other’s territorial sovereignty.
Another Chinese news portal, China daily reported, “China confirms India’s pull back from Donglang” and it further stated that India has finally withdrawn its troops. It said, India, following its intrusion into China’s Donglang area, has removed all its personnel and facilities back to its side of the China-India border.
For us, yes, it has been withdrawal from both the armies as said by our Foreign Ministry but why China chooses to again publish one side report is something we are not getting. China has also said that they will keep a close check on Dong Lang.
