India could face chemical attack – Army chief

India is currently facing hostility and threats of conflicts from 2 fronts, Pakistan and China both are trying to create problem and unrestness for the Indian Armed Forces. Indian Armed Forces are trying to get advance and capable to face the next war at two fronts which doesn’t seems a like a real threat, but having history of wars with both the nation cannot let you sleep peacefully.

Yesterday Indian Army’s Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat warned India of possible use of chemical and biological weapon in the act of war, if it happens in future. Before COAS, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar expressed concern over the very same issue and backed his statement by his experience of seeing pics from Afghanistan war where deformities in the newly born can easily be seen and observed.

COAS was attending an event in which DRDO handed over the Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle (NBCRV) and medicines to the Indian Army.

DRDO’s achievements while developing a sophisticated defence posture again CRBN (Chemical, Radioactive, Biological, and Nuclear) cannot be neglected. The current version which is handed over to army is NBRCV Mk-1 which is capable of doing recce in the CBRN affected environment. Indian Army has placed order for 16 such vehicles.

Indian Army is preparing for such scenario since a long time, they have developed the capabilities in their heavy armored vehicles like T-90 Bhisma, T-72 Ajeya and Arjun have capabilities to stand against CBRN attack, apart from that BMP-1 and BMP-2 both the variants have capabilities to bear the deadly attacks. DRDO is developing NBRCV mk-2 which will be able to recce as well examine the environment through it’s sophisticated sensor suits.
