Indian Air Force Warns Rivals with Biggest Ever Combat Exercise

Indian Air Force will begin its exercise from today and it is the biggest combat exercise ever. A press release by Indian Air force says, “The aim of this exercise is real time coordination, deployment and employment of Air Power in a short & intense battle scenario. During Gaganshakti IAF will exercise the entire machinery to validate its concept of operations and war waging capability. With each successive exercise, the lessons learnt in the previous exercises and doctrinal precepts are put to test, for developing new concepts. This year the IAF has planned tactics that will be tested in a real time scenario.”

The exercises will be carried in two different phases, the first will be on the western border with Pakistan and the other at eastern Border near Tibet.

India’s neighbours Pakistan and China are allies of each other and it’s most important that India has a adequate combat practice in both of the commands. In any scenarios of war, India will have to fight on both of the fronts.

The exercise will include Special Operations with Garuds, Mass Casualty Evacuation from highway, Joint Maritime Air Operations with the Indian Navy, Joint Operations with the Indian Army, simulated Combat Search and Rescue for effective extraction of downed aircrew behind enemy lines. In all, this would be the biggest IAF exercise which has ever happened.

A tweet from Indian Air Force said, Pan India Exercise from 08-22 Apr 18, to hone the skills of Airwarriors, to strike Adversaries’ Targets, Practice Air Support & Joint Ops with the sister services by Day & Night. Missions would be conducted in a near Real time scenario.

China has been training Pakistani troops on how to assemble anti missile systems, from past three months. Chinese officials leaked the news so that it works as a message that they can handle Agni V.

Around 15,000 personnel will take part in the exercise of which 300 are officers.
