Indian army crossed the LOC to avenge the death of four soldiers who were killed in a similar way by Pakistani army.
Pakistan army killed four Indian troops, Indian army crossed the LOC to plant IEDs across the border and killed three Pakistani soldiers in firing across the LoC. As reported, incident happened in Rawalkot sector of Pakistan. It was a retaliation which was much required after the Pakistani army targeted the army patrol at Brat Gala at around 12:15 pm which resulted in injuring of three soldiers.
After the Uri attacks, this will be the first time when army crossing the LoC has come under public discourse.
An army spokesperson briefed the media, “Major Moharkar Prafulla Ambadas, Lance Naik Gurmail Singh and Sepoy Pargat Singh were grievously injured during the ceasefire violation and succumbed to injuries. Two other personnel also sustained injuries and are under medical treatment”.
He further added, “The incident started when Pakistani troops targeted the Army patrol at Brat Galla in Keri sector at around 12:15pm in which the three soldiers were injured fatally”.
Major Ambadas belonged to Maharashtra and is survived by his wife Avoli Moharkar, and Lance Naik Gurmail Singh belonged to Amritsar and survived by his wife and a daughter.
“Major Ambadas, Lance Naik Gurmail and Sepoy Pargat were brave and sincere soldiers. The nation will always remain indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,” an Army statement said.
The Indian forces have been avenging even the single drop of blood of any Indian soldier. The ambushes by Border attack team of Pakistan has been increased in past one year and Indian army is alert and focused to not fall prey for any ambushes.
