Indian Army’s Surgical strike in POK to be made into a Movie

It has been a year of Surgical strike and this word is still making news around India. When last week, it was revealed in a book where one Major Mike Tango was on the adventurous return after strike, and it is now Bollywood taking up the covert-op.

The surgical strike was carried out by Indian Army Para SF across LoC in PoK was in response to the tragic Uri terror attack. Experts cited it as a befitting action against Pakistan’s terror backing policy.

The covert-op is all set to be portrayed on the silver-screen as per some sources. A movie is on cards to re-create the events leading up to the strike and the strike itself. The movie is titled ‘Uri’.

Masaan‘ fame Vicky Kaushal will play the lead portraying the commander-in-chief who led the operation. He would be undergoing some serious paramilitary training before the shooting starts.

On 18th September,2016 militants attacked Uri camp, martyring 19 soldiers. Just 11 days later, the DGMO announced the surgical strikes were executed, killing at least 38 terrorists and few Pak army men. “The film is the story of what happened in those eleven days,” said, director Aditya Dhar.

Since information about the strike is still under wraps, it should be noted that the events may be loosely connected to the incident. The film is expected to hit the screens September 2018.
