NSG Introduces New Internationally Acclaimed Test For Black Cat Commando

Tough time has begun to become Black Cat Commando in NSG (National Security Guard). The world’s toughest selection process i.e., Vienna Test will have to be cleared by aspiring security commandos. Now, the black cat commando recently switched to the internationally acclaimed toughest test of Vienna.

For uninitiated, NSG which is National Security Guard is an Indian special forces unit which falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It was started after Operation Blue Star and the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984. NSG is for combating terrorist activities with a view to providing safeguard to states against internal disturbances created by nuisance creator.

It was formed in 1984 and now working with 7,500 employees on an annual budget of ₹816.10 crore. It’s a government agency, so the selection process of commandos in NSG is tough and now it becomes tougher with internationally acclaimed Vienna Test.

The head of NSG, designated as Director General (DG) is selected by the Home Minister. India’s elite counter-terrorism force, perhaps with the best strength among the security forces, now demands street smart workers.

Information of the applicants about the analysis of psychological tests with mental demonstrations focusing on basic characteristics such as courage, integrity, teamwork, psychiatrist, fine motor skills for stress tolerance and cognitive-personality testing is focused on the test.

Earlier on, DRDO approved Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR) Military Psychology Test should be cleared by the commandos. Now, the SPG (Special Protection Group) has been undergoing the Vienna Test System for at least 15 years.

According to a senior officer of the NSG, “The test enables us to make a choice of better candidate. The commandos are to be super fit, but with a sharp mind. They need to take split-second decision which can be life-saving or threatening. So, we look for qualities of determination, courage, and stress management among many other such skills.”

“The Vienna Test is considered as the best in the world, so why not the best for our commandos. We already have two batches who have undergone the test. This will give us quality officers and jawans,” this decision was taken by DG Sudhir Pratap Singh.

The commando’s training of 90 days period has seen drop out of 14-20 percent in addition to the test of fire.

The Vienna Test empowers the officials looking for best muscle with the more gray matter.
