The pride and honor Indian soldiers feel in serving the nation is beyond the words and no one can explain those feelings in the word. People who have such feelings can see nothing other than serving to the nation. The same is again proved by a 17-year-old Uttarakhand youth named Shivansh Joshi. Shivansh topped the entrance examination of National Defence Academy(NDA).
After Shivansh’s win, he told to Hindustan Times, “Serving the country has been my objective since childhood. The love for the country runs in the blood of youngsters of Uttarakhand and I feel fortunate to be living my dream now.”
Shivansh is a Ramnagar resident who had cleared his 12th board from Little Scholar’s School with 96.8%. He also passed JEE advanced and got an entry in Indian Institute of Technology(IIT). However, he always dreamt of joining the armed forces and it was completed on November 24, when the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared results for NDA. On November 25, when the merit list was displayed, Shiv’s name was on the top. He cleared the interview in September conducted by Services Selection Board.
Shivansh said, “The key to cracking such competitions is control over your routine.” He added, “I played football and used to read books. One cannot study whole time or play the whole time. A balance is needed to chase your dream.”
Shivansh is the first one who topped the NDA entrance examination. To this, Shivansh said, “I am extremely proud and fortunate to come from a state, which has given the nation people such as national security advisor Ajit Kumar Doval and General Bipin Rawat, the chief of army staff. I too want to dedicate my life to the security and pride of the country.”
Sanjeev Joshi, father of Shivansh said, “If every son understands his duty towards the country, we would beat any superpower. We want our younger son who is in class 8th to join the defence forces and make the country proud like Shivansh.”
